FOSTERING DIALOGUE AND COOPERATION FOR SUSTAINABLE FOREST MANAGEMENT IN CHINA

The First Meeting of the Forest Dialogue Forum of China was convened 3-4 August 2005, in Beijing. The primary organizers were the State Forestry Administration (SFA) of China and the Chinese Academy of Forestry (CAF), with additional support provided by FAO, World Bank and WWF. More than 100 people participated, including representatives from national forestry agencies and institutions, research academies, universities, local and provincial governments, NGOs, projects, and international organizations. About 20 foreign participants attended.
