A patch pocket is just that—a patch of fabric, usually a variation on a square, that is sewn to a garment on three sides; the unattached top edge becomes the pocket opening. It's simple to construct, but there are definite steps you need to practice to ensure a completely professional—and not at all homemade—finish.
