Fashion design education goes online

Many websites offer online videos to teach home sewers new skills, but until recently, none were geared toward those interested in the fashion design industry. University of Fashion was created by Francesca Sterlacci, a former professor at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York and Academy of Art University in San Francisco. The subscription-based educational website is designed to inspire and educate students, teachers, fashion industry professionals, home sewers, and the non-sewing "fashion curious" (whose desire to learn to sew is sparked by shows such as Project Runway or Fashion Star).
