Invited 'special Feature' Articles

摘要

With this issue of Thin Solid Films, we are introducing a new type of article which we call a "Special Feature." As with our Critical Review articles, authors of Special Features are invited by the Editors. However, the purpose of Special Features is slightly different than that of Critical Reviews. Special Features are meant to provide international experts in important subfields of thin film science, engineering, and technology with a forum to discuss the history, evolution, drawbacks, and successes of seminal ideas and concepts which have not only shaped our technology, but are still in current use.
