The Drum-and-Battery Boiler: A Line of Development of Natural-Circulation Power Boilers

The idea of using a drumless (battery-type) boiler is based on new approaches to organizing the water chemistry. The scheme of the boiler separating units described in this paper has been used at the Taganrog Bolier Works of AO Krasnyi Kotel'shchik to make a preliminary proposal. The size and mass of these units are such that using them as substitutes for drums whose metal life has expired greatly reduces the labor required for replacement.
