The main neutron-physical and thermohydraulic characteristics of the loop facilities of the MIR research reactor are presented. The water-chemistry parameters that can be realized during investigations of materials for fuel assemblies are described. The combination of advanced instrumentation and methods for the analytical monitoring of the coolant that fully allows any information needed on the development of the water chemistry in the loop facilities to be obtained is presented.
