The Effect of Manufacturing Operations on the Redistribution of the Fields of Residual Stress when Producing Cast and Welded Turbine Casings

The effect of manufacturing operations on the formation and redistribution of the residual stresses that appear in the cast-and-welded casings of medium-capacity turbines made of 15Kh1M1FL and 25LA steels in the course of their production is investigated. The proposed technique for diagnosing elastic bodies, which enables their stressed state to be determined quite accurately at the factory, is shown to be highly versatile and effective.
