MINIMISING CHEMICAL AND WATER WASTE IN THE METAL FINISHING INDUSTRY

Many companies in the metal finishing industry can make substantial cost savings by minimising their consumption of chemicals and water, and improving their end-of-pipe treatment facilities. Chemical and water consumption within the industry varies widely, and there are many instances of waste. Water supply and effluent disposal costs are rising and there is growing pressure on companies to reduce costs and improve both profitability and environmental performance. A waste minimisation programme is a good way of achieving these objectives.
