Artificial planets with fractal feature specification

摘要

We describe the generation of artificial planets using a regular polyhedron as an initial mesh. The specification of arbitrary terrain features based on a quaternary trian- gular mesh in conjunction with fractal sub- division helps generate a potentially infi- nite variety of planets with 3 D terrain and optional ocean surfaces. A method for in- variant point identification overcomes the problem of internal consistency.
