Drj. C. Chapman reports on the joint IStructE/IABSE lecture on 9 December by Mike Clover. There was no advance paper for this event. Mike Glover gave to an overflow audience an enthralling account of the problems encountered and solutions adopted in this enormous project. He did however mention that in relation to railway developments across other parts of the EU the 109km stretch from London to Folkestone was a 'branch line'!
