The erection of 10 000t of bridge steelwork at the new Swale Crossing in Kent included one of the UK's longest ever launch cantilevers, at 92.5m. Due to various site constraints and the varying plan geometry there were three launch phases plus craneage erection phases. But in only 12 months all the steelwork has been erected and the deck slab and parapets are only a few weeks away from completion.
