Engineering for Everyone

In The Structural Engineer, (3 April 2007 p13), there was a report on the recent Western Counties Branch young members' group debate: 'The Institution has no relevance to young engineers'. The discussions highlighted two main areas where young members feel the Institution could be more effective at representing their interests: improving salaries and raising both the profile and the public's perception of the role engineers have in society.
