This lightweight, slender structure provides a new landmark across the River Towy in Wales, in a sensitive landscape, explains Philip Wiscombe, Rowecord Engineering Ltd Carmarthenshire County Council's new striking footbridge over the River Towy is a low-cost landmark structure fulfilling the Council's sustainable transport needs for the local community and the region. The bridge has a clear span over the river with foundations wholly out of the river channel and backspans clear of flood levels therefore providing minimal impact on river habitats. It is a lightweight and slender structure which is illuminated with simple and effective LED lighting.
