Shaping a better world

To celebrate its 60th anniversary Arup formed an alliance with WaterAid having defined access to clean water and sanitation as an area of major need for change For Arup the past 60 years (its anniversary was on April 1 2006) have been about its commitment to 'shape a better world', whether planning and designing sustainable icons for the built environment or mobilising expert assistance in relief of a disaster. As a milestone, 60 years is certainly something to celebrate, but rather than marking the occasion with a single celebration or publication, Arup chose to 'walk-the-walk' by doing something in keeping with its values.
