For his Centenary selection Michael Bussell, a member of the Institution's History Study Group, introduces a paper describing the design and realisation of this large and distinctive building in the financial heart of Hong Kong (Sept. 1985, 63A/9). Its steel-framed structure was unusual in a high-rise city built largely of reinforced concrete, and posed numerous challenges that were overcome to achieve completion in a relatively short time-frame.
