Reducing carbon emissions by design is way forward says CIC

It is no longer sufficient to try harder to mitigate climate change: changing the design process and spreading that change quickly through international professional networks is the future. This was the conclusion of a private conference organised by the Construction Industry Council (CIC) for 45 presidents, chairmen CEOs and senior staff. According to Keith Clarke, Chief Executive, Atkins and the next Chairman of CIC: 'Only design professionals and the product manufacturers can really make a difference to climate change; they have the ability to do so much more than any government to really change things'.
