Young Members spread the word

The 2007 / 2008 session has got off to a flying start for the Young Member's Panel (YMP) with University visits taking place across the country and the planning of regional centenary events. The young member's panel started an initiative in the last academic year to visit Universities across the country, and talk about the IStructE, routes to chartership and life as a structural engineer. We hope that these visits will encourage students to become members of the Institution and to enter structural engineering as a profession. Last year's visits were highly successful and it is intended that the programme continues with more universities being added in each year. Numerous visits have taken place this year and the panel members involved give brief reports in thei article.
