The Centenary Conference in Hong Kong was much more than a celebration; there were many messages of importance for the future. In her closing speech, IStructE President, Sarah Buck, said that while many of the presentations were about building higher, longer and with new materials, and 'within our comfort zone', it was clear that the human dimension was increasingly important.
