Kingspan Off-Site's TEK Building System has achieved the highest Green Guide ratings in the BRE's Certified Environmental Profiles Scheme.rnProviding standardised and independent information about the environmental impact of a building product or component, the BRE Certified Environmental Profile Scheme enables specifiers to consider the environmental effects of a building design at an early stage. An effective method of assessing a building product's environmental impact, the scheme examines a number of sustainability categories, including ozone depletion, consumption of minerals and water, emissions of pollutants into the air and water, as well as the quantity of waste sent for disposal.rnAwarded a Green Guide A+ rating for its specification on external walls, the system comprises 110mm high performance CFC/HCFC-free rigid urethane insulation sandwiched between two sheets of OSB/3 (Oriented Strand Board). OSB has a positive effect on the environmental impact due to its ability to sequester carbon.
