The need to properly maintain car parks will be promoted by the British Parking Association (BPA) via a special interest group focussed on parking structures and asset management. It will look at owner-operator liabilities and responsibilities, identifying potential problems in the early stages, maintenance, benefits and life-care plans.rnKelvin Reynolds, BPA director of technical services said: 'Structural safety and integrity of car parks is paramount. Too many owners and operators do not have a 'life-care' plan for their car parks and many do not even know what the term means, or that it can apply to simple retaining structures in at-grade car parks as well as large multi storey buildings.
