Safe Construction Of Common Buildings

The process of building involves putting together various products in a tried and tested manner, to suit the environment and to meet the needs of the client and the user. It is best done once and for all. A building should be planned by professionals with expertise and experience, and built by reliable and knowledgeable builders, in compliance with workable Building Regulations and Guidance. Changes in construction practices, building regulations and procurement procedures (e.g. design and build) must be managed in such a way that the interests of the users and occupiers are protected. The current situation appears to have a weakening effect on the three main props essential for satisfactory building construction, i.e. the designer, the builder and the building control. It is hoped that all interested parties in the construction industry and the Government could make an effort to restore the equilibrium and bring about good standards in construction of common buildings.
