As the global community was wrestling with climate change issues on the international stage at the Copenhagen conference, research published by the Carbon Trust suggests that CO_2 emissions from UK non-domestic buildings could be reduced by 35% by 2020, leading to savings of £4.5bn. Longer term, by 2050, carbon reduction of of 70-75% could be achieved at no net cost to the UK.
