Milne Medal Award 2011 presented to Ed Clark

IABSE has awarded its Milne Medal for excellence in structural design 2011 to Ed Clark, MEng, CEng, MIStructE, MICE. Ed is a Director of Arup and he was presented with his Medal by Professor David Nethercot OBE (see photo), at the Institution of Structural Engineers on 3 November, prior to giving his Milne Medal Lecture entitled, Roller Coasters. The talk explored how design fits within the profession of structural engineering - addressing what we might mean by design excellence and what purpose it should serve.
