Just a few weeks ago (89/5) I extended my sympathies on this page to the citizens of Christchurch, New Zealand - the earthquake of 22 February resulting in the deaths of at least 166 people.Less than 3 weeks later on 11 March, a massive earthquake and subsequent tsunami tore through Japan's eastern coastline resulting in the deaths of more than 10 000 people. The devastating effects, in addition to the potential implications at the Fukushima nuclear plant, are still being realised and we've included a short news item on page 8 of this issue.
