Structural Engineering Standards

The JSD is actively engaged in the development and maintenance of structural engineering standards. It has standing committees looking into the primary structural materials (masonry, steel, concrete and timber). It is in the process of establishing another committee for glass, which is increasingly being used in structural applications. The Division is also championing the adoption of the Eurocodes in South Africa and the alignment of local standards to support such adoption.
