Degrees of change

The strange thing about professional institutions is that they rarely appear to change! By and large, matters develop incrementally such that one might be forgiven for missing the subtlety of it all. If one were to look back over a period of years, then of course, the results of change become all the more apparent. Wistfully some may prefer the way it was, but on balance new directions of travel are accepted as being necessary and beneficial.
