Research Award winner reports on CLT research

The winner of the Institution's 2014 Research Award, Dr Christian Malaga Chuquitaype, has published the results of his research into the "Lateral response of cross-laminated timber panels". Dr Malaga, from Imperial College London, worked with Ramboll to develop a fundamental understanding of how cross-laminated timber (CLT) panels respond to lateral loads from extreme actions such as earthquakes and strong winds - an important resource that could help structural engineers design taller timber buildings.
