BRE conducts large-scale fire test programme on cladding systems

Following the Grenfell Tower fire in London on 14 June, BRE has been commissioned by the Department for Communities and Local Government to conduct a series of large-scale tests to establish how different types of aluminium composite material (ACM) panels, in combination with different types of insulation, behave in a fire. The large-scale tests follow initial screening tests to identifying tower blocks with cladding that is not of limited combustibility.
