These notes set out the principal possible areas of post-contract involvement for the structural engineer. Not all the services identified will be required on all projects, and some may be specifically excluded in the fee bid or appointment documents. Those to be provided should be managed by allocating the necessary resources throughout the course of the contract, and by continuing the engineer's internal monitoring and checking procedures to ensure that the integrity of their original design is not compromised in design development.
