6.1. A complaint was made to the Institution arising out of the engagement of the member to provide advice concerning the renovation of a domestic property. Taking all matters into account, the PCC found that the member's failure to provide written terms of engagement resulted in the precise nature and scope of the services to be provided not being set out in writing and a failure by the member to ensure that any limitations with regard to the services provided were understood by the client. The PCC found further that the member failed to provide the correct advice and information to his client.
