This is a scheme sketch for the Glyndeboume Croquet Pavilion, a new sustainable events space for the Glyndeboume opera house estate due to start construction later this year. Elliott Wood has been working with BakerBrown architects and material specialists Biohm, Local Works Studio and Braden Timber Structures to design the pavilion using novel, sustainable local materials, including structural glulam from salvaged ash felled on the estate, cladding made from discarded champagne corks from the opera festivalgoers, mycelium insulation grown in shipping containers on site, and wall tiles from waste glass and lobster shells.
