Learning from structural failures - resulting from technical, natural or human factors - is an important way to make our structures safer. The Library holds a large number of books, reports and papers on both the subject overall and on individual failures. Many books tackle the subject generally and use real-world case studies to illustrate it-these include: 1. MacAlevey: Structural engineering failures: lessons for design (Createspace, 2010) 4. Delatte: Beyond failure: forensic case studies for civil engineers (ASCE, 2009)* 5. Campbell: Learning from construction failures: applied forensic engineering (Whittles, 2001).
