Home working during Covid-19: reader tips

In relation to setting up a workspace, we have converted a spare room to a home office over the last three years. This has proved very effective and useful during the pandemic by providing a separate space for work. Having this space has enabled work-life separation during this period. We had already adopted a work-from-home policy for two days a week since the company started, so the change and way of working has not affected us too much. We have used Microsoft Teams and TeamViewer over the last three years for some design team meetings and this has always proved useful as it saves time. It has also aided with keeping team spirits up. Zoom has been useful for attending CPD topics and webinars. We have only conducted site visits on empty buildings during the pandemic. We were able to focus more on ongoing design projects and feasibility studies during this stage. There are a lot of positives to having some degree of working from home, as you can use the time normally spent commuting to focus on health. It has the advantage of allowing you to go training during the day.
