PHC Zelenodolsk Plant named after A.M.Gorky has a long experience in building of warships. Since the date of its establishment in 1985 the yard built more than 1500 sea and river vessels, almost 600 of them are built for the Navy used not only in Russia but also in Germany, Cuba, Yugoslavia, Algeria, Latvia and others. Among war projects, developed by the plant, there are large and small antisubmarine warfare ships, hovercraft SKAT, waterborne platforms for tanks, big series of antisubmarine ships ALBATROS, guard-ships and vessels for hydroacoustic measuring operations. The plant is about to create the first in Russia high-speed dynamically-supported vessels and ships, that are hydrofoil vessels, hovercrafts, vessels on air cavity. This enabled the plant to provide building of the first in the world experimental antisubmarine hydrofoil ship SOKOL in the early 1980's. After that two missile hovercrafts, named BORA and SAMUM were built at the plant; at the time they also didn't have the analogies in the world.
