A few cumuli dotted the azure sky on 10th July 2005. To cele-brate 60 years of peace since VE and VJ Days, a splendid flypast progressed majestically above the crowded Mall towards Buckingham Palace. The Queen and her family were out in force to watch. They were showered with poppy petals, dropped by the last airworthy Lancaster, which was bringing up the rear escorted by a Hurricane and a Spitfire. They had been preceded by five de Havilland Rapides, three DC3s, two Avro Ansons, a Catalina and a Flying Fortress.
