Part one of a trilogy, Cornucopia is a tale of savagery, greed, tragic loss and unexpected love. Set in 1938, the tale starts on board a Shorts Flying Boat (the Cornucopia) in a heavy storm over the Bay of Bengal, with the aircraft suffering engine problems and being badly overweight. The Empress Airways' aircraft is carrying a large amountrnof bullion destined to help in Britain's crucial military expansion in the face of Hitler's aggressive posturing.rnAfter it ditches, the survivors struggle to keep the aircraft afloat in the hope of rescue or landfall. Meanwhile, forces of good and evil have learned of the plightrnand, more importantly,the cargo of the Cornucopia, and for their own ends set out to locate the downed flight.
