Darren Williams of BALPA Financial Solutions (BFS) has posted his initial thoughts on the Coalition Government's restructuring of the pension tax relief legislation, and by the time you read this will have published his first Q&A sheet. There will be options that mitigate the 50% tax rate for many, but if you are caught and you are happy to be speculative with some of your investments, then a proportion of the tax paid can be clawed back through investing in either a Venture Capital Trust (VCT) or an Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
