For many years BFS has offered cover to trainees if they should lose their medical. We have also recently added life cover to the policy, as trainee pilots generally have their premiums heavily increased by mainstream life insurers.The cover for loss of medical is in two optional parts: lump sum cover, which can be up to the cost of your training course and which will pay out if the loss of medical is permanent; and monthly benefit, which can be used to cover monthly expenditure on loan repayments, accommodation, or living expenses that you are contractually committed to pay at the time of the claim.
