I am writing this on the opening day of the Paralympics, 30th August, and on this day in 1913, the Sperry autopilot made its first successful test flight, a device we take for granted and which makes lengthy flights practicable. The Paralympics are also a suitable link to'Wings for Warriors'on page 32, which highlights the importance of giving new goals to disabled service veterans, and how you can help in an appropriate and worthwhile way.
