We are writing to you with regard to the Dash Trash article published in the summer 2014 issue of The Log magazine. Several members have commented that they believe this article was inaccurate, prejudiced, wholly inappropriate, and not what BALPA should be publishing. Having read the article we have to agree with our members that this article falls well short of the editorial standards that we would expect of BALPA. It is easy to see how Scottish members could be offended by the article and it is also noted that the author also includes Wales in his derisory remarks. I hope that you will understand our concerns and that you will consider more carefully in the future the effect that articles, serious or not, may have on all members that may read them.
