Former Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore was not the first to write on climate change, but his success bears some responsibility for the flood of books on that theme that are now crowding book store shelves. Few of the authors have the training and experience to understand technologies in common use today, let alone speculate usefully about technologies that provide promise in the future.
