An Riocht host event on engineering future

The future of engineering in Kerry came under the spotlight recently when An Riocht hosted this keynote event in IT Tralee. The event was chaired by Engineers Ireland Director General John Power and speakers on the night included Kerry County Manager, Tom Curran, ITT President Michael Carmody and Gerry Maloney of Enterprise Ireland. The talk revolved around the potential for engineering jobs in the Kerry region with reference to public engineering works, the role of engineers in local authorities, education and transfer of skills and support for the indigenous sector.
