ICOMOS conference comes to Ireland

The ICOMOS (International Council on Monuments and Sites) Conference and Scientific Symposium, Dublin Castle takes place from October 26 to October 31. This international event is expected to attract over 250 delegates from more than 80 countries and will be opened by President Mary McAleese. There will be a number of parallel meetings with the International Scientific Committees to which Irish delegates will be invited and a full-day Scientific Symposium which will be opened by the Minister of the Environment, Heritage and Local Government, John Gormley, TD. The event is supported by the Office of Public Works and The Heritage Council. Dublin City Council and the Lord Mayor's Office will fund a civic reception and Fingal County Council will provide Malahide Castle for the Executive Committee meeting.
