CPD scheme moves into Europe through Leonardo

Engineers Ireland has secured a place on a major European research project looking at best international practice for engineering competence development through employer-supported learning. Participation in the project will significantly enhance the ability of Ireland's national body for engineering professionals to ensure that Irish engineers and their employers remain to the fore internationally in technical and professional capabilities. Engineers Ireland CPD Director, Aidan Harney, Chartered FCIPD, is leading the project which has already seen valuable knowledge-exchange visits to Ireland and to Portugal. "The CPD Accredited Employer scheme in Ireland offers superb, proven potential for engineering employers to craft development systems which will enhance their business and engage engineering professionals in future-focused development. Engineers Ireland's benchmarking scope is now being extended Europe-wide through this research and this can only deliver a better service to our members and their employers when it comes to keeping ahead internationally," he commented.
