rx3 'rethink, recycle, remake' funded by the Department of the Environment, Community and Local Government is another national platform contributing to resource efficiency. rx3 is intended to help close the material loop, through the development of markets for recyclables in the Republic of Ireland. It has a particular focus upon organics, plastics and paper which accounts for two thirds of the municipal waste stream. Complementing the EPA National Waste Reports, rx3 published detailed reports providing market intelligence on availability and quality of recyclable materials (important for business decisions and to apply for or allocate funding).
