Service providers rebirth

IT outsourcing has been around for at least 25 years, when bureaux emerged to provide computer power to companies that lacked the resources to buy or use the large mainframes then dominating computer technology. While some organisations still prefer to let someone else supply, manage and maintain their IT provision, the birth of the PC and everything that has followed in its wake made it so much easier for even small companies to implement their own systems. That has resulted in outsourcing taking a back seat-until now.
