Small is bountiful as STS reaps ever bigger rewards

The push to develop ever tinier engineered devices is generating constantly growing rewards for Surface Technology Systems. The South Wales-based specialist equipment manufacturer said markets for its Micro Electromechanical Systems (MEMS) products are continuing to expand, bucking the slowdown in other areas of specialist electronics. STS makes the etching and deposition equipment used to design complex micro-machines such as pressure sensors, accelerometers, inkjet printer heads and gyroscopes. Its technology is used in more than 600 machines around the world.
