Talk of A hydrogen revolution is no more than an elaborate piece of window dressing and will never result in the new clean fuel economy that many people hope for. An investigation by The Engineer reveals that hydrogen will never be the panacea for today's fuel and environmental crisis. There is simply not enough financial or governmental backing behind hydrogen―and the indications are that in the coming decades the technology to harness its use will be dropped by the automotive, oil and gas industries.
