UK researchers will carry out the biggest study of World Trade Centre survivors in an effort to help structural engineers and architects design safer skyscrapers. A team from three UK universities plans to interview over 2,000 people who escaped the WTC to discover how the evacuation of September 11 unfolded, and which elements in the twin towers' design helped or hindered their escape.
