Jeremy Gadd's letter (23 Febru-ary-8 March 2009) ended with the sort of throwaway comment about plastics that enrages me.rnRegardless of his opinions on the merits of classic versus modern cars, his opinion of 'plastics' as 'tosh' has to be challenged.rnJust what plastic materials or components does he have in mind? Is it the little polystyrene gift in hisrnChristmas cracker ('tosh'). Or perhaps it was the scratch-resistant, much-lighter-and-tougher-than-glass, aerodynamically shaped polycarbonate headlamp covers on most current cars?
